It says in the book of Revelation:
I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices. Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them" (Rev 10:1-4).
Little is known about these seven thunders, as important as they seem to be. In my book on Revelation, Hidden Jewels from the Revelation, I spend an entire chapter explaining who these seven thunders are. I also explain why their messages are sealed up, besides the fact that the time has not yet come for their messages.
When God told Daniel to seal up the prophecy he had gotten for the end-times it sets the precedent that certain things are sealed up until it is time for them. There is also another important reason that those messages are sealed up that I explain in my book that has to do with the wedding of the Lamb.
The seven thunders are in fact seven prophets who will come on the scene in the end-times. One of the things I call them is God’s clean up crew. They will clean up the church before the return of the Lord. They will have absolute authority over God’s church to discipline, set up and take down. They will root out all the false shepherds and hirelings.
The seven thunders are also seven end-time apostles who will be anointed to build God’s church according to God’s pattern. The hirelings over the centuries have built God’s church according to man’s ideas and patterns to the point that it no longer has any semblance to God’s original plan.
The seven thunders are alive today but are hidden from the church. They are going through their training and will be revealed at the time when God begins to restore His church according to His pattern. This may still be 15-20 away (see my article Third Day from May).
Until then man will continue to build their kingdoms in God’s name their way. When Jesus returns, some things will be very similar to the way things were when He came the first time. Then the Pharisees and Sadducees were in control and they did not like Jesus telling them what they were doing wrong. In fact, the killed the very Son of God because they didn’t like Him or His teachings on God’s kingdom. When the seven thunders appear they too will not be welcomed by hirelings who are in ministry for personal gain.
Another important thing about the seven thunders is that these positions may still be waiting to be filled. They will be awarded to those who finish their race (of sanctification first in the end-times). In other word you could be one of them, it is for those who love the Lord the most and are totally obedient to His Word and Spirit. If you don’t qualify to be one of them maybe you might qualify to be one of the 144,000, the bride of the Lamb. I don’t know if this is a literal number or not but I do know it is for those who have the Lord as their first love.
